The warm sunlight poured through the large windows of their New York apartment, casting a golden hue across the sleek modern kitchen. Nisha, still dressed in her cozy pajamas, was busy preparing breakfast, moving around the kitchen with practiced ease. The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, mingling with the scent of sizzling eggs and toast.
As she flipped the last piece of toast, she heard Aaravâs heavy footsteps coming down the hall. He appeared in the doorway, dressed in his crisp white shirt and black trousers, but his tie was hanging loosely around his neck, untied, and his face had that familiar frustrated look.
âYouâd think after all these years, I would have mastered this stupid tie,â Aarav grumbled, tugging at the fabric with an annoyed huff.
Nisha stifled a laugh, turning off the stove and walking over to him. âYou always leave it until the last minute,â she teased, reaching for the tie. âCome here, let me do it.â
Aarav stepped closer, standing still as Nisha expertly began to loop the tie around his collar, her fingers working quickly and gracefully. He watched her with an amused smile, loving these little moments of normalcy between them. The world saw him as cold, ruthless, and always in control, but with Nisha, he didnât mind showing a little vulnerabilityâeven if it was something as simple as not being able to tie his own tie.
âI donât know what Iâd do without you,â he said softly, his eyes never leaving her face.
Nisha smiled as she finished tying the knot, adjusting the tie so it sat perfectly against his shirt. âYouâd probably be late to every meeting,â she replied with a grin, smoothing down the collar of his shirt.
Aarav smirked, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer. âIâd survive⌠but it wouldnât be nearly as fun,â he said, his voice low and teasing.
Nisha chuckled, placing her hands on his chest. âYou know, if you spent less time being dramatic and more time practicing, youâd have this mastered by now.â
He gave her a mock-offended look, but his eyes softened as he leaned in to kiss her gently on the forehead. âMaybe,â he murmured, âbut then Iâd miss out on moments like this.â
Nishaâs heart melted a little, but before she could reply, the toaster popped up, and she gently pushed him away. âAlright, Mr. Charmer, breakfast first. You have a long day ahead.â
Aarav sighed, releasing her reluctantly. âFine, fine. Iâll set the table.â
As Aarav moved to grab the plates, Nisha plated up the breakfast. She placed the eggs, toast, and fruit onto the table, and Aarav poured coffee into two mugs, sliding one over to her with a small smile.
They sat down together, enjoying the quiet morning. It was moments like these that made the chaos of their lives bearable. As busy as they were, with Aarav running his multiple companies and Nisha working alongside him, mornings were their time.
Nisha looked at Aarav across the table, admiring how even in his calm moments, he still carried that aura of power and control. But here, with her, he was just Aaravâthe man she loved.
âWhatâs on your schedule today?â she asked, taking a sip of her coffee.
Aarav groaned, rolling his eyes. âBack-to-back meetings. Board approvals. And the endless joys of being questioned about my decisions.â He paused, narrowing his eyes playfully at her. âBut at least Iâll have you to keep me sane.â
Nisha grinned, leaning back in her chair. âIf by âkeeping you sane,â you mean me reminding you to stay calm and not yell at everyone, then yes.â
Aarav chuckled, shaking his head. âThat, too.â
Once they finished breakfast, they moved back into their routine, preparing for the day ahead. Nisha headed back to their bedroom to change into her work clothes, a soft, professional outfit that balanced elegance and comfort. Aarav disappeared into the bathroom, probably to fix his hairâsomething that always took him longer than heâd admit.
As Nisha stood in front of the mirror, brushing her hair, she heard the familiar sound of Aarav muttering to himself as he tried to tame his unruly hair. Smiling, she couldnât help but feel a sense of contentment. Despite their hectic schedules, despite Aaravâs occasional bouts of frustration, this was the life they had built together.
And as chaotic as it could be, it was theirs.
A few minutes later, Aarav emerged from the bathroom, looking every bit the powerful CEO he was. His dark hair was perfectly styled, his tie now neatly in place (thanks to Nisha), and his presence filled the room.
âYou ready?â he asked, grabbing his watch and slipping it on.
Nisha nodded, grabbing her bag and sliding on her shoes. âLetâs go. We donât want to be late,â she said, heading toward the door.
Aarav followed, grabbing his briefcase and keys. As they stepped out into the bustling city, Aarav slipped his arm around her waist, pulling her close as they walked to the car.
Despite the busy day ahead, Nisha felt a sense of calm wash over her. No matter how overwhelming things got, as long as they had mornings like this, she knew they could handle anything.
